The worship service is one hour.

Our church offers a blend of traditional and spiritual music, with a focus on classic hymns of faith from the hymnal Hymns of Faith, like “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” “It Is Well With My Soul,” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” These timeless hymns are often accompanied by piano and organ, creating a reverent and uplifting atmosphere.

In addition to these, there is some incorporation of contemporary hymns for special music, which provides a fresh yet still worshipful experience. The mix of traditional and newer styles helps engage a diverse congregation while maintaining a deep connection to faith and heritage.

Dress for what is most comfortable for you. You will find both formal and casual attire in our congregation.

A school across the street has parking, a gravel parking lot is beside the church, and parking is available on the street.

Yes, there is a nursery for children under the age of 4.

First Presbyterian Church, PCA in Ellerbe, NC, is currently searching for its next pastor, and we’re confident the Lord has wonderful things in store for our church family!

The only paid staff is the pastor. God has blessed us with a congregation of people with gifts of many talents who volunteer their time.

Sunday School classes are available for every age group.

There is a monthly Women’s Ministry Bible study or program.

The Women’s Ministry meets the last Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall.

We stay connected through a monthly newsletter that provides us with birthdays, anniversaries, and prayer lists. “One Call” phone messages provide devotions and catechism questions, event reminders, and member updates. We also have a dedicated For Members page on our website and an online calendar.

Fellowship Activities

The Women’s Ministry hosts regular and special events, including quarterly gatherings with meals or refreshments, including devotions/Biblical lessons, designed to foster connections among members. The Men of the Covenant group prepares breakfast for members and guests from the community, and includes a Biblical lesson and prayer time.

Outreach & Evangelism

Initiatives include local missions, community service, and evangelistic events such as an annual revival featuring visiting ministers.

The Church has an Elder Shepherding Program in which elders provide spiritual oversight, guidance, and pastoral care to members of the congregation. This may include:

  • Regular Check-ins with individuals or families
  • Prayer Support and Biblical counseling
  • Assistance during crisis (illness, grief, or personal struggles)
  • Encouragement in faith and discipleship

Support for those in need includes monetary contributions, food drives, and partnerships with organizations such as:

  • Educational/Community: UNC Charlotte, Johnson & Wales, Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), JAARS
  • Crisis Support: PeeDee Crisis Pregnancy Ministry, Ellerbe Rescue Squad, Place of Grace Homeless Shelter, Samaritan Colony, House of Pearls, Solus Christus, etc.
  • Healthcare/Hospice: Two hospice organizations
  • Global/Denominational: Gideons International, MTW, MNA
